With more than 130.000 EU citizens supporting our European Citizens’ Initiative (ECI) End Ecocide in Europe proposing a draft european ecocide directive, we have gained enormous momentum and were successful in adding a new term to the language of people in Europe and worldwide: ecocide. The ECI was also turned into a petition reaching 175.000 signatures in february 2015 that we handed over to the EU Parliament, at the occasion of a special audition.

That is why we are continuing to collect signatures to convince states parties to recognize the crime of ecocide.

Support this project to launch a strong appeal to States Parties to the ICC who have already this proposal in hands. Most of these countries are developing or insular countries that are already victims of climate change and often are at the mercy of transnational corporations. It requires only one state to launch an ICC Statute review process. He must send the proposal to the Secretary General of the United Nations who will be in charge of convening the Assembly of States Parties to deliberate.

Please share within your community and networks, only we all together can make a change!
